YouTube to MP3 on Linux
Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint, Arch: the browser does the converting, your file manager and music player handle the rest. No terminal required (unless you want it).
Convert
- Copy the YouTube link from Firefox or Chrome.
- Open our converter, paste, Convert, Download.
- Find the MP3 in Downloads (Files, Nautilus, or Dolphin, depending on your desktop).
Linux tips
- Players: VLC plays everything; Rhythmbox, Clementine, and Lollypop manage libraries nicely.
- Codecs: MP3 playback needs the codec packages on some distros (ubuntu-restricted-extras on Ubuntu). Install once, play forever.
- CLI alternative: if you prefer the terminal, yt-dlp plus ffmpeg does the same job offline.
